A standing form of Avalokiteshvara, the All-Seeing Lord with one thousand hands and eleven faces. White in color, he stands with feet together, his eleven faces arranged in tiers — the lower faces peaceful in white, green and red, surmounted by a wrathful black face and, at the crown, a peaceful red face.
The first pair of hands is joined at the heart; the other principal hands hold a rosary, a wheel, a lotus, a water-pot, and a bow and arrow, while the remaining nine hundred and ninety-two hands are raised in the gesture of granting boons, each palm marked with an eye. A deerskin drapes his left shoulder and fine cloths cover the lower body. His tawny locks are crowned by the buddha Amitabha, and he is adorned with every kind of jewel ornament.
