At the center he sits with one face and two arms, his hands holding the stems of lotuses that blossom over each shoulder; his body is yellow, evoking gold. Aligned vertically to either side are eight further manifestations of Lokeshvara, each a different colour and each protecting from one of the Eight Great Fears — among them snakes and tigers at the lower left, elephants at the lower right, and fire above. Amitabha Buddha, red, presides at the top center, flanked by two yellow-hatted Gelug teachers, while the protectress Shri Devi Magzor Gyalmo appears at the bottom center.
