Arapachana Manjushri, the bodhisattva and meditational deity who embodies the wisdom of all the buddhas of the ten directions and three times. He is shown with a body orange as fresh saffron, one face and two hands: the right raises aloft the sword of wisdom that severs ignorance, while the left holds to the heart the stem of an utpala lotus that blossoms at the ear to bear the Prajnaparamita book. Seated in vajra posture with the appearance of a youth of sixteen, he wears jewel ornaments and silken garments, his hair bound in five tufts to the left, a moon disc of light supporting his back.
