༄༅། །བཀྲ་ཤིས་སྣང་བའི་སྒྲོལ་མ་།།
ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཟླ་བའི་དུམ་བུས་དབུ་རྒྱན།
།བརྒྱན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཤིན་ཏུ་འབར་མ། །
རལ་པའི་ཁྲོད་ན་འོད་དཔག་མེད་ལས།
།རྟག་པར་ཤིན་ཏུ་འོད་རབ་མཛད་མ། །Homage to Tara crowned with the crescent moon,
Nghi quỹ tu trì Lục Độ Phật Mẫu, Drukpa lineage
her diadem excellent and blazing,
Amitabha arising in her piled hair;
and from that place a light streams out
bearing every marvellous treasure
for the benefit of living beings.
Tara “who radiates auspicious light” is also known as she “who bestows prosperity”. She sits upon a white moon disc and a lotus of many colours. She appears peaceful, with one face, two eyes and eight arms. Adorned with divine silk garments and jewel ornaments, she bears upon her crown a crescent moon, unseen.
In her first right hand she holds an iron trident before her breast, and in her first left hand a radiantly shining jewel before her heart. In her second pair of hands she raises two identical iron hooks. In her third pair she holds a vajra and a club. In her fourth pair, a sword and a golden flask. Above her crown appears the buddha Amitabha. She has the power to grant auspicious aspirations throughout all space and time, and her rite is connected with the fire offering, homa.
