Shokavinodana Tara, Who Dispels All Sorrows [10/21]

༄༅། །མྱ་ངན་སེལ་བའི་སྒྲོལ་མ་།།
ཕྱག་འཚལ་རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་བ་བརྗིད་པའི།
།དབུ་བརྒྱན་འོད་ཀྱི་ཕྲེང་བས་སྤེལ་མ། །
བཞད་པ་རབ་བཞད་ཏུཏྟཱ་ར་ཡིས།
།བདུད་དང་འཇིག་རྟེན་དབང་དུ་མཛད་མ། །

Homage to Tara of majestic joy,
her diadem adorned and blazing,
who laughs aloud in gladness with TUTTARE;
the demons and the spirits of this world
she gathers and subdues,
and turns their hearts to submission.

Nghi quỹ tu trì Lục Độ Phật Mẫu, Drukpa lineage

Tara “who dispels every sorrow”. She sits in the sattva paryanka posture upon a white moon disc and a red lotus, adorned with divine silk garments and jewel ornaments. She appears beautiful and peaceful, red as ruby or coral, with one face, two eyes and four arms.

Her first pair of hands forms the palms-folded gesture of great joy (Skt. mahamudita-mudra) above the crown of her head. Her second right hand raises a blazing sword, and her second left hand holds the branch of an ashoka tree bearing red flowers. Above her crown appears the buddha Amoghasiddhi. She has the power to dispel sorrow, and the prayer addressed to her is used for entering the mandala.
